We start with an original photograph of a landscape, plant, animal, or fungus. Using portraitart.app, we convert that photo to a first-draft cartoonized image. Each image is then digitally modified and additional original artwork added using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. The result is a unique coloring page!

Each book is a collection of a dozen coloring pages grouped by a common theme!
Additional instructional pages teach about things like where each organism lives, how to say its scientific name, what it eats, and how big it gets. With copies of the original photographs included, it’s a STEAM extravaganza for all ages!

Steve Schenk launched the YouTube channel Sci5-Videos in 2020 to provide instructional biology content aimed at college students. These videos present topics in focused, short videos which blend simple animation with Steve’s unique wit and instructional expertise.

In 2026, Reverie Productions will be adding to and improving the Sci5-Videos content through our business collaboration initiative, as well as looking to add channels for other audiences.
We will incorporate practical application directly into future Sci5-Videos by including relevant businesses directly in the videos. Participating businesses benefit by having their professional brand directly linked to science education.
